A mash up of the Cookie Monster and Mookie Betts. Cookie Betts was a fun concept to express my humor and love for cartoons and baseball. Part of an ongoing series called Monster Athletes.

1. Inspiration
Mookie Betts is one of baseball’s most exciting athletes and an all around great human being. An inspiration to me to continue grinding and give back when possible—he runs numerous philanthropic initiatives around LA and across the US.
2. Sketches
The Cookie Monster is just fun with those eyes and that goofy smile.
Initial sketches focused on learning how to draw Mookie Betts and his most distinct features.
Following this exercise, I prioritized getting a cartoon-y" look.
Painting with Posca paint markers is so satisfying and they were new so I was excited to try them out. Colors weren’t to my liking so I corrected later.
3. Final design
Finalized vector illustration with some grains and gradients applied.
